Masonry Sand (Natural)
Natural Masonry Sand is a natural mountain sand mined from certain regions
The Cumberland Plateau and is run through a screening process that sorts the grain sizes
forming a very fine material. Size: Masonry Sand is typically comprised of granular pieces
1/16” and smallerUse: Mortar for decorative stone, brick and block construction. The natural
composition of our sand is used internationally in the manufacturing of ceramic tile.
Above ground swimming pools are also installed over a bed of masonry sand.

Concrete / Asphalt Sand (Natural)

Golf Course Sand (Natural)
Our Golf Course sand is derived from a washed material minimizing any clay and silt
content, thus making “top dressing” smoother. Its low calcium content and low ph levels
helps to slow the breakdown of nitrogen which helps reduce thatch, increases green speeds
and makes for smoother putting surfaces. Natural sand makes for better bunkers and
topdressing spreads as the angulation of the particles spreads easier than competitive
manufactured sand from other regions.

Dirt

Fill Dirt – Screened & Unscreened
As it’s name implies, fill dirt is earthy material which is used to fill in a depression or hole
in the ground or create mounds or otherwise artificially change the grade or elevation of
real property. Fill dirt should be as free of organic matter as possible since organic matter
will decompose creating pockets of empty space within the fill which could result in settling.
Uneven or excessive settling of the fill can result in damage to any structures built on the fill.
Screened Fill Dirt has been processed through a screener that removes any oversized rocks
and sticks. Unscreened Fill Dirt is excavated from the earth and delivered in the same state
that it was removed.

Topsoil – Screened & Unscreened
As it’s name implies, fill dirt is earthy material which is used to fill in a depression or hole
Topsoil is the upper, outermost layer of soil, usually the top 2 inches to 8 inches. It has the
highest concentration of organic matter and microorganisms and is where most of the Earth’s
biological soil activity occurs. It also houses many organisms. Plants generally concentrate
their roots in and obtain most of their vital nutrients from this layer. A variety of soil
mixtures are sold commercially as topsoil, usually for use in improving gardens and lawns,
e.g. container gardens, potting soil and peat. Another important yet not commonly known
use for topsoil is for proper surface grading near residential buildings such as homes.
The ground around the home should slope down six inches for the first ten feet away from
the home. This can often be done by adding topsoil (not sand or gravel).
Screened topsoil has been processed through a screener that removes any oversized
rocks and sticks. Unscreened topsoil is excavated from the earth and delivered in the
same state
that it was removed.
